An experienced horticultural gardener/handyman is required to provide ‘hands-on’ care for 2 hectares of landscaped gardens in a large property in Byron Hinterland. The gardener will have assistance from a regular part-time gardening team who work each week at the property and must be able to actively and correctly manage the care and maintenance of the gardens and the part-time team. Excellent handyman skills are also required to carry out minor property maintenance work where necessary. This position provides very good accommodation located on the property. Candidates must be able to live at the property providing a ‘security presence’, must be able to drive and have their own transport. This client cannot offer accommodation to the gardener’s partner or family, this is a position for a single person.

An experienced chef who is able to prepare fresh, healthy, balanced meals on a daily basis for a family of four and their visiting guests. The chef must be able to prepare a higher level of cuisine for dinner parties and guest lunches when required.

Guest numbers will vary during the two-month period but for the majority of the period there will only be 4 – 6 people present at the property. The client is looking for a chef who is organised, who works very cleanly and who can be versatile with the types of cuisine they can offer.


The family enjoy classical French, Asian and Mediterranean-style cuisine. The property has two kitchens with the professional kitchen being very well-equipped and well-planned.

A bedroom with en-suite bathroom is available as accommodation if required. Applicants must be able to drive and work legally in Australia.

An energetic and enthusiastic hostess is required to take up a permanent position in a luxury property on Cap d’Antibes  The hostess will be working with an established interior household team and in-house training can be provided to candidates who have previous restaurant, hotel or yacht experience but are not as yet highly trained.

39 hrs per week.

Caretaker, St Tropez, FR// Ref No.280  NEW

Our Middle Eastern clients are seeking a very experienced property caretaker for their luxury property in St Tropez. The current caretaker is retiring after 30+ years working for this family in their various properties. He will provide a ‘hand-over’ to the successful candidate and will also be available locally to assist and advise the new caretaker in the first few weeks/months if required.
Candidates must be highly professional and well-presented as duties will include occasionally providing a warm, polished welcome to visitors and managers, being able to prepare and offer hot or cold drinks, etc if required. The Principal, his family and their staff will spend approx. 8 – 10 weeks each summer at the property. Gardeners and security services are already contracted for the villa, the caretaker must have very good handyman/maintenance skills and be intelligent, security-aware, communicative and pro-active.
Duties will include:
• Basic Garden Maintenance
• General Property Maintenance
• Greeting guests/manager when required
• Overseeing Contractors/ on-site work
• Updating Managers by email with progress reports etc

• Running Errands
This position would suit a candidate who is very comfortable with working and being alone as outside of the summer season the property will not be used and St Tropez is very quiet in the winter months with little activity locally. Alternatively, this client will also consider employing a caretaker who lives with a partner, however, only the caretaker will be employed by this client.
A very nice independent gatehouse is offered as accommodation with this position. Outside of the summer, the working hours will be 9am - 5pm - 5.5 days per week. When the Principal is in residence extra hours/days may be required.
Candidates must be able to drive and speak both English and French to a good level; they must also be able to write well in one of those languages to provide updates and reports to the non-residential property managers who are based in Cannes.

Head Chef, Avignon, FR// Ref No.279 

A very experienced head chef who is accustomed to working in a private service environment is required for a fully-booked, ultra-lux rental property and private home in the Avignon area. The chef will replace the resident American chef from 23rd August to 30th Sept 2020 and will have a brigade of 3 or 4 trained USA interns who will be working at the property during the summer months. The rental guests are UHNW multi-nationals. Therefore, the head chef must be able to offer an extensive range of international cuisines and be accustomed to catering for special dietary requirements, gluten-free/lactose-free/vegan/vegetarian etc.
The property is maintained to the standard of a 5* boutique hotel with very high-profile guests therefore staff discretion is essential.
The chef also needs to have a warm, engaging personality as this property has a very open kitchen and regular guests are accustomed to coming in and out to “see what’s cooking”, ask questions and watch the chefs at work, therefore the head chef must enjoy interacting with guests within his working environment - whilst still maintaining a professional relationship.
Applicants must speak fluent English and conversational French, must be able to drive and preferably be living on or close to the Cote d’Azur. They should also be able to invoice this client via their own ‘micro’ or company as a CDD is not offered with this position. Accommodation is provided if required.

Our client is seeking an experienced House Manager/Cook who can efficiently oversee the day-to day running operations of the home and cook for a small number of guests. The property is located close to Salon de Provence and the Principal is in residence approximately 4.5 months each year, often outside of the high season months. This is a semi-formal household maintaining very high standards. 
Applicants should have good managerial, organisational and interpersonal skills and be an excellent cook. They should enjoy maintaining and developing household manuals and checklists that will support a well-organized home. The position requires a high energy individual with an excellent work ethic who takes pride in their work.

  • Hire, train and supervise housekeeping staff

  • Work with other staff and services to maintain household and property standards

  • Cooking family-style meals for up to six people

  • Be comfortable kitchen-assisting the Principal who loves to cook

  • For any larger parties - supervise caterers and service team

An experienced couple with excellent, housekeeping, family cooking and driver/handyman skills are required for a British-owned 5 bedroomed chalet in Chamonix. The couple must have a proven employment history of working together in a similar role. The owners are generally in residence occasional weekends and most school vacation periods in the winter months.


A private chef is already engaged to travel with the family. So, cooking duties will be mainly to assist on the chef's days off and possibly vacation. The focus will be on five-star service to the principals and their guests. Therefore, the male of the couple must be willing to assist with the housekeeping/ cooking duties where needed as well as being a handyman/driver.

Both of the candidates must have driving licenses and at least one is required to speak good conversational French.
Accommodation of a one bedroomed annex apartment is offered including a small patio/terrace area with BBQ. Unfortunately, couples with children or pets cannot be considered.

Domestic Couple, Ardeche, FR // Ref No.271


An experienced couple with a youthful energy and approach, who would enjoy working in a very rural environment and can work autonomously is required to look after a beautiful chateau located south of Paris. The Principal often visits the property alone or with his wife for weekends etc outside of the very busy autumn and winter hunting season. During the hunting season there are frequent events and receptions with lots of guests, at which time extra staff, housekeepers, chefs etc are brought in to share the workload.
Both of the couple should have excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills, be flexible about working weekends when the Principal is in residence and both must be able to drive.
Other exterior workers are employed and the male of the couple will not only work autonomously but should also be happy to work within a team when required to deal with external maintenance and gardening issues. Candidates must speak fluent English, conversational French would be an advantage - it is imperative that the couple are happy to live a rural lifestyle as the chateau is located deep in the countryside. Couples who have previous experience working in a similar rural setting will be given very serious consideration.

  • Monitoring the work of contractors for those maintenance jobs not within his/her competence

  • Dealing with suppliers, subcontractors, bills and invoices

  • Ensuring the safety of the estate - being present in the estate, surveillance of the property, closing doors and gates, control of the alarm system.

  • Perform chauffeur duties - Pick-ups / drop offs from / to CDG and other local airports when required

  • Looking after the cars – keeping them clean and maintained etc...


  • Daily cleaning and deep cleaning of the residence; dusting, vacuuming, washing of floors and windows, bathrooms, kitchens, furniture care, carpet and rugs cleaning...

  • Responsible for the owners’ wardrobes and laundry, washing, ironing, packing and unpacking when the Principals’ are in residence, taking care of dry cleaning.

  • Laundry, ironing of linens; towels, table linen etc. (bed linen is outsourced) making beds and changing bed linen

  • Shopping for groceries and small household items

  • Cooking and table service when the owners are in residence

  • Taking care of two well-behaved dogs (feeding, taking them for a walk and to the vet if necessary).

During Events, Receptions etc

  • Assisting the family and others in the working team in the organization of the event

  • Greeting guests, sharing the responsibilities with the other working team and helping the Chef if necessary

  • Managing the temporary staff members and supervising extra cleaning duties (Guests bedrooms & bathrooms, Salle de Chasse, Dining room…) during the event

  • Purchasing of flowers and preparing floral arrangements

  • Pickup of guests from train station or airports

A furnished apartment is offered as accommodation.

Couples without children or pets are preferable however the Principal will consider all applications.
